JAMES DAMRON

 

DAMRON, James, age 93 of Huntland, passed away on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at his residence.  He was a veteran of World War II and was proud to have served as Huntland’s mayor for several years. He loved raising cattle and being out on the farm. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marianna Stovall Damron; parents, Charles Fred Damron and Bettie Jane Smith Damron; a brother, Charles Damron; and a sister, Freddelene Ruch. He is survived by his brother, Alwayne Damron of Huntland; a nephew, Gary Damron; four nieces, Betty Stewart, Billie Gay Smith, Cindy Von Halle and Jo Beth Damron; and several great nieces and nephews.  Visitation with the family was held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester.  Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. HARVEY JACKS, JR.

 

JACKS, Harvey, Jr., age 83 of Belvidere, passed away on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester.  He was a farmer.  Preceding him in death were his parents, Harvey Jacks, Sr. and Velma Green Jacks; a son, Johnny Ray Jacks; two sisters, Gertrude King and Ruby Sue Culver; five brothers, Billy Ray Henshaw, Roy Henshaw, Orville Henshaw, John T. Jacks and Kenneth Henshaw.  He is survived by a sister, Lillian S. Barnes; devoted friend, Don Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.  Visitation with the family was held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lester Ashley officiating.   Interment was in the Mt. RAY E. FRAZIER

 

FRAZIER, Dr. Ray E., age 91 of Tullahoma, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at his residence. Dr. Frazier was born in Second Creek, WV to the late Gordon and Nina Carter Frazier. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Benjamin Rutherford and a great grandchild, Grace Edwards. Dr. Frazier was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma. He was a dentist in Tullahoma for 31 years and was a World War II veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Navy. Dr. Frazier is survived by his wife, Donna Frazier of Tullahoma; a step-son, Mike (Emily) Rutherford of Tullahoma; a step-daughter, Cindy (Bill) Macon of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Edwards, Abbey (Will) Logan, Emily Macon and Riley Macon; and a great grandchild, Stella Edwards. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Tullahoma Funeral Home in Tullahoma. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pat Allison and Rev. Paul Purdue officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma. The family has requested for those who wish to make donations in Dr. Frazier’s name to the Children’s Ministry at Cedar Lane and Dossett Chapel Children’s Program at First United Methodist Church. EDNA CONN


CONN, Edna, age 88, of Decherd, departed this life suddenly on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Manchester Healthcare Center. Mrs. Conn was a member of the Farris Chapel United Methodist Church. She worked for R&W Clothing Industry for many years before retiring. Mrs. Conn was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, Jack Conn, for 64 years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Biddie Kilgore. Mrs. Conn is survived by a sister, Nancy Wilson; two nephews, Wade (Carolyn) Bassett of Manchester and Bobby (Claudine) Conn of Florida; six nieces, Tammie (Buck) Morris of Winchester, Betty Coker of Decherd, Margie Gipson of Manchester, Peggy Curtis of Decherd, Joan (Harold) Jones of Belvidere, and Jane (Douglas) Crowell of Texas; a cousin, Bobby (Magdalene) Nunley of Grundy County; and a special friend, Carolyn Bearden of Hillsboro. Visitation with the family was held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. The funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ross Peterson officiating. Interment followed in the Mt.
