A 7-year-old Belvidere boy had to be airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga after being severely injured by his family’s dog on Sunday.
According to Franklin County Sgt. Chris Guess, the boy was outside at his home on Vernon Ridge Road in Belvidere when the dog attacked him, causing injuries to his head.
Sgt. Guess said the boy, whom he didn’t identify, was “hurt pretty bad,” but, as of Monday morning, his condition was unknown.
This incident is still under investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Franklin County Animal Control is holding the family’s dog until the investigation is complete. Sgt. Guess said once the investigation is completed a decision would be made on what to do with the dog.
