Two individuals were injured in three-vehicle accident on Cowan Highway just before 3 p.m. Thursday.
According to the accident report by Winchester Police Department’s Cpl. Stacy Shrum, all three vehicles were traveling south on Cowan Highway. Caitlyn Callaway, 26, of Carter Road, Decherd, was stopped waiting for traffic to clear so she could make a left turn onto Arnold Farm Road.
Kristy Cowan, 36 of Collierfield Lane, Winchester, was driving in a vehicle behind Callaway and had stopped waiting for Callaway to make her turn. At this time, Katelyn Timbs-McGalliard, 18, of Jackson Street, Cowan, came up behind Kristy Cowan’s, vehicle, and according to a witness, apparently failed to stop, colliding with Cowan’s SUV pushing it into Callaway’s vehicle.
Timbs-McGalliard was transported to Vanderbilt hospital to be treated for possible injuries and Cowan was transported to Southern Tennessee Medical Center.
Both have since been treated and released.

According to emergency personnel at the scene, one individual was transported by ambulance to STMC (Southern Tennessee Medical Center), another individual was transported by air ambulance. Identifications were not immediately revealed, more information will be available later.
