Four people were transported to Southern Tennessee Medical Center following a two-vehicle accident in front of Sak-n-Pak on Main Street in Estill Springs Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred at 2:57 p.m. during heavy traffic congestion, and southbound traffic was snarled for some time, but emergency personnel are to be credited for responding very quickly to the scene.

According to Estill Springs Police officer Sgt. Matt Baker, the drivers of the vehicles were Debra Ashby of Decherd, driving a 2009 Honda and James Henley of Winchester, driving a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder.

Ashby was alone in her vehicle while Henley was transporting two passengers, one of whom was a child, according to Sgt. Baker.

A complete accident report was not available at press time.
