Two injured in Hwy. 64 crash

Just before noon Monday, a major accident involving two vehicles occurred on Hwy. 64 at the Oak Grove Road intersection.

According to police, two people were airlifted from the scene. One individual was taken to Erlanger and the other to Vanderbilt Medical Center to be treated for injuries. Eastbound traffic on Hwy. 64 was at a standstill for several minutes while emergency personnel worked the accident.

Personnel with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Rural Metro Ambulance Service and Decherd Fire Department responded to the call.
