WALLS, Judy Carol, age 70 of the Oak Grove Community in Decherd, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Wynd Ridge Health and Rehab Center in Crossville. She was born on May 15, 1943, in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Calvin and Laura Mae (Elliott) Walls. Ms. Walls was very courageous and had many friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John William Walls, Charles Edward Walls and Albert Lewis Walls and a sister, Jewel Dean Gillespie. Survivors include a very special friend of 40 years, Max Northcutt of Decherd; step-mother, Julia M. Walls of Decherd; two brothers, George Herman Walls of Tullahoma and Alvin Dale Walls of Decherd; three sisters, Joyce Evelyn Gipson, Nola Elizabeth Hill and Marguerite Powers, all of Decherd; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family received friends during visitation held on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 3:30 p.m. in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Beal officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. BILLY EUGENE EDDE
EDDE, Billy Eugene, age 73 of Moore County, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma. He owned and operated Lynchburg Auto Parts for 30 years and then operated his own bush hogging business until 2008. He loved farming, bird and squirrel hunting, watching western TV and movies and spending time with his family. He was born on June 27, 1940, the son of the late Jim Ed and Ester Parks Edde. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Francis Reed and Barbara Ann Baxter and brother Parks Edde. He is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Miller and her fiancee’ Timmy Evans of Cowan, and Joyce (William) Brown of Winchester; five sisters, Jeraline (Jackie) Limbaugh of Winchester, Jimmy Lou Edde Sandlin of Fayetteville, Judy (James) Prince of Winchester, Jane (Ralph) Burton of Lynchburg and Dimple (Tom) Spencer of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Vicki (Justin) Lacey of Bell Buckle, Penny (Josh) Watson Estill Springs, Kayla (Joseph) Jackson of Jacksonville, FL and Rachel Brown and Jessica Brown, both of Winchester; eight great-grandchildren, Colin, Chesley, Caleb, Wyatt, Tommy, Tayler, Alexis, and Kaytlyn. The family received friends during visitation held on Friday, March 21, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at the Lynchburg Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Funeral services for Mr. Edde were conducted on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Lynchburg Funeral Home with Bro. Byron Lawrence officiating. LONG, Charles David, Sr., age 63 of Manchester, passed from this life on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro. He was born on Jan. 2, 1951, in Sewanee, the son of the late Harry Dave and Alma Jean (Farrell) Long. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1968 until 1971. He was a veteran of Vietnam. Mr. Long was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Long. Survivors include his two sons, Charles David (Kerry) Long of Manchester and Larry Wayne (Kayla) Long of Decherd; a daughter, Mandy Mae (Jason) Glasner of Winchester; four brothers, Larry Wayne Ferrell of Manchester, Jeff Long of Sewanee, Paul Long of Sand Mountain and Harry Long of Estill Springs; sisters, Denise Caldwell of S.C., Brenda Frayer of Sewanee, Mollie Barrett of Central, S.C., Debbie Davis of Winchester, Chasity Helton of Winchester, Terri Ann Long of Decherd and Jessie Mae Long of Cowan; step-mother, Donna Long of Decherd; step-father, Wayne McBee of Sewanee; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. SMITH, Dorothy Ivey, age 68 of Tullahoma, passed from this life on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at her home. She was born on May 4, 1945, in Manchester, the daughter of the late James Ralph and Willie (Himes) Davenport. She was a secretary for the Franklin County Board of Education. Survivors include her son, Robert Eugene Smith of Tullahoma; daughter, Melissa (Walter Samuel) Eubanks of Tullahoma; brother, Wayne (Judy) Davenport of Tullahoma; three sisters, Brenda Bogman of Tullahoma, Elsie (Gary) Hale of Lynchburg and Sara (Tony) Talley of Normandy; and three grandchildren, Jayme Baker, Even Baker and Jasmine Eubanks.
