The cause of the fire that destroyed Sir’s Fabrics is believed to have been electrical in nature, according to authorities.

“There’s been no formal report released yet,” said acting Fire Chief Coby Moon, Friday, adding, however, that he has been advised by the state fire marshal’s office electrical issues resulted in the blaze. That report is expected to be returned this week, he said.

The fire that engulfed Sir’s Fabrics and its sister store, Sir’s Marketplace, on North Elk Avenue in Fayetteville had gotten its start Saturday evening, Feb. 10, and then rekindled in the early morning hours Sunday, Feb. 11.
