Taste of Autumn Fall Festival

Taste of Autumn Fall Festival featuring a chili cook-off, cruise-in and shopping Saturday, Oct. 21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Square in downtown Winchester, 1 S. Jefferson St. (closed to traf c). Chili Cook-off entry registration fee $25. Tasting armbands $5. Prizes first $275; second $125; third $100; people’s choice booth $50; people’s choice chili $50. Classic car cruise-in with first 75 given goody bags and dash plaques.

Dog Walk for Dog Park @ Winchester City Park

Leashed dogs and their owners are urged to support a proposed dog
park by meeting up on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. at Winchester City Park Red Roof Pavilion in Winchester for “Winchester has gone to the Dogs.” A “Howl o’ ween costume parade” will be held at noon with a prize for the best dressed small dog and large dog. A benefit will be held that night at 7 p.m. at the Oasis Restaurant in Winchester with musician Steve Sisk performing. A dog barking contest by human volunteers begins at 8:30 p.m. with a $50 gift certificate for the winner.
