Tax-Aide will prepare and file income tax returns and provide assistance to low and middle-income taxpayers free Feb. 6 through April 12 from 9 a.m. to noon at United Methodist church banquet room, 100 S. Jefferson St. in Winchester. To make an appointment, call 931-636-8803 and leave a message.
A Red Cross blood drive will be held at the Belvidere Mennonite Church, 9805 David Crockett Parkway, W. Belvidere on Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 2 to 6 p.m.
The Tims Ford Council, the Franklin County, Coffee County and Tullahoma high school and Junior Bass Teams, with help from the TWRA Lake Management Crew and Rotary Club, will hold their annual Tims Ford Lake annual clean up on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with headquarters at Tims Ford State Park launch ramp. Boats, pontoons, and boat captains are needed at the ramp as well as volunteers. Meet at Lakeview Marina at the ramp (parking, restrooms and breakfast snacks provided). Wear long pants/shirts/gloves and closed toe shoes. Trash bags and gloves provided. Trash dumpsters located at State Park ramp and Devils Step Ramp. Dumpsters will be in place Friday, 9-12 at both locations for drop off shoreline trash. Clean-up can continue on your own for individuals and groups (shoreline roads and neighborhoods). The Good Shepherd Parish Community invites the community to their Mardi Gras celebration Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, for age 21 and older at Monterrey Station in Cowan. Live entertainment from 7 to 11 p.m. will be provided by The Respectables Band and DJ. Catered by a professional chef, an a la carte gourmet buffet features traditional and untraditional Cajun cuisine and decadent desserts served from 6 to 8 p.m. as well as a silent auction featuring items donated by local and regional businesses. Cash bar available. Second Harvest Food Truck will distribute food boxes to those in need at the Winchester First Baptist Church, 108 S. High St. in Winchester (the “A frame” just off the square) on Saturday, Feb. 17 starting at 9:30 a.m. Please bring someone to help if you are unable to carry food boxes to your vehicle
Franklin County Kiwanis High on the Hog Beauty Pageant, Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 11 am. The event will be held at Franklin County High School Auditorium.
