Friday Senior Dance And Christmas Party Fun

All senior citizens (age 55 and older) are invited to the Franklin County Senior Center Friday night dance and Christmas party Friday, Dec. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the center located behind Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. Enjoy a modern-day Santa and two of his helpers (most seniors are out of touch with the old, original Santa and this newer model might be more fun). Also enjoy the gift exchange and ham giveaway as well as several other give-aways. Cowan Railroad Museum presents the Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition, “The Way We Worked,” going on now through April 21 at the Cowan Center for the Arts (old Cowan Baptist Church building). TN Valley Woodworkers Club @ University of Tennessee Space Institute

Christmas Eve Mass: “The Nativity of our Lord,” is Saturday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. at St. Agnes’ Episcopal Church in Cowan.  Christmas Eve Mass is a traditional evening service with lessons, carols and Holy Communion.  Cider and Christmas cookies will be served in the parish hall following the service.  St. Agnes’ is located in downtown Cowan at 105 East England St.  First-time visitors are always welcome.  Info., 636-6313.

Winchester Little League will have signups for the 2012 season on Jan. 22 at First Baptist Church 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Jan. 24 at Broadview School Cafeteria 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Jan. 28 at First Baptist Church 9 a.m. to noon.  All players must be age 4 to 12 years old by April 31. The preliminary to the Ms. Tennessee and Ms. Tennessee Outstanding Teen Pageant is Saturday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. at Franklin County High School. The following counties are eligible to compete: Franklin, Coffee, Moore, Lincoln, Grundy, Marion, Hamilton, Sequatchie, Warren, Bedford, Marshall, Giles, Maury, Williamson, Rutherford, Cannon, Davidson and Wilson. You must live, work or go to school in one of these counties.

“Dance to the Light of the Moon” Annual Valentine’s Dance @ Arnold Lakeside Center in Tullahoma

AEDC Woman’s Club, invites the community to their fundraising Valentine’s dinner and dance Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at Arnold Lakeside Center in Tullahoma. Proceeds benefit the club’s Scholarship Foundation. The Timeline Band will perform dance favorites. A silent auction will keep everyone busy until the band gets started.
