Widow’s support group

The Franklin County Chapter of Wings of Hope Widows Ministry will sponsor a widow’s support group beginning Sunday, Jan. 14 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Winchester Church of Christ, 1230 S. College St. in Winchester. Sessions continue each Sunday for six weeks. The group offers practical advice for those facing the loss of a spouse and utilizes the book, “Widow to Widow” written by Miriam Neff, a widow herself. There is no cost for the sessions. Franklin County Democratic Party meets Saturday at 9 a.m. in the small meeting room at Franklin County Annex, 839 Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester. Business meeting and election thoughts as well as guest speaker Margaret Ottley talking about voter registration and ID and other information. Dwain Money from Almost Home will speak about the homeless situation in this area. Elected representatives need to attend. Meeting will conclude in time for those planning to attend Women’s March in Nashville.
