The Peace and Serenity Al-Anon family group meets each Thursday at 7 p.m. in the parlor room of First United Methodist Church, 100 South Jefferson St., Winchester. All family and friends of addicted individuals are invited to join in to learn to live in peace and with serenity.

Clothing giveaway Friday and Saturday, Jan. 19-20 starting at 9 a.m. at Agape Ministries located at 35 S. Porter St. in Winchester (across from Burger King drive-up window). Everyone is welcome.

Franklin County Democratic Party meets Saturday at 9 a.m. in the small meeting room at Franklin County Annex, 839 Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester. Business meeting and election thoughts as well as guest speaker Margaret Ottley talking about voter registration and ID and other information. Dwain Money from Almost Home will speak about the homeless situation in this area. Elected representatives need to attend. Meeting will conclude in time for those planning to attend Women’s March in Nashville.

United Daughters of the Confederacy Kirby-Smith Chapter 327 Sewanee meets Saturday at 11 a.m. at Oak Restaurant in Manchester.

STLS presents Gourmet tasting – Spirits, food, music
Jan 21 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Everyone is invited to a gourmet tasting evening featuring spirits, food and music Saturday, Jan. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Franklin County Country Club. Pritchard’s’ Spirits of Kelso, will offer samples of Tennessee rum, Sweet Lucy and other spirit concoctions for your tasting experience. A new spirit business located in Fayetteville, “Jackson Morgan Southern Cream Whiskey,” will also be featured. Presenting a large selection of wines from a variety of wineries will be Stones’ River Total Beverage of Murfreesboro. A selection of gourmet foods will be offered for tasting. Cynthia Grey, violinist and Nancy Jolley, pianist will entertain. Cost is $30 per person advance (tickets available from Southern Tennessee Ladies Society members or at Initial It on the Square). Tickets at the door are $35.

Money raised funds high school scholarships.
