The National Defense Cadet Corps (NDCC) cadets at Franklin County High School recently expanded their energy education knowledge.
Because the cadets wanted to know more about the future of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and its application as an alternative energy source for transportation so they recently visited with Elk River Public Utility representatives.
Don Keele and Mr. Lavoid Baltimore of ERPUD gave a presentation on the environmental and economic advantages of natural gas as compared to petroleum and coal as energy sources. The cadets were also treated to a viewing of ERPUD’s two CNG powered vehicles. The presentation covered servicing of CNG vehicles and the abundance of natural gas as an energy source.
