Hornets advance to regional championship game with dramatic semifinal win

The Huntland Hornets beat the LEAD Academy High School Panthers 63-62 in the semifinals of their regional tournament held Tuesday at Eagleville High School.
 
The momentum swung wildly back-and-forth throughout the game as both teams held double-digit leads at different teams.
 
With two seconds remaining and the Hornets trailing by one, Huntland’s WIll Rector fired a shot which rolled off the front of rim and rolled in to give the Hornets the lead and the win.

With the win, the Hornets have advanced to the regional championship game and will play Community High School Thursday at Eagleville High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
