The Huntland High School boys and girls basketball teams traveled to play the teams of Whitwell High School on the road Tuesday with the girls winning and the boys losing.
The Lady Hornets found their shooting touch from beyond the arc with 11 3-pointers as they beat the Lady Tigers 61-33. With the win, they improved to 3-2 on the season.
The Hornets came close to their first win of the season, but ultimately lost 74-69 in a dramatic, double-overtime encounter. The Hornets moved to 0-5 on the season with the loss.

Both teams will next play Friday at Grundy County High School. Tip-off for the first game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
