KNOXVILLE – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment of a Jefferson City man in connection with an officer-involved shooting incident that occurred in December.

On December 23rd, at the request of 4th District Attorney General James Dunn, TBI Special Agents began investigating the circumstances surrounding an officer-involved shooting that occurred at a home on Cora Road in Jefferson City. The investigation revealed that deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence after receiving a report of a disturbance, in which one person had been cut with a knife. Upon entering the home, deputies were confronted by James Rose (DOB 9/4/60), who came at them with a knife. One of the deputies fired shots at Rose, striking him. He was transported to the hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries.

Last week, the Jefferson County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Rose with two counts of Aggravated Assault. On Tuesday, he was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
