Four local middle school basketball teams were in action Monday with the teams from North Middle School and Huntland Middle School both splitting their matchups on the road against West Middle School and Eagleville Middle School, respectively.
The Gatorettes led for a majority of the game and ended their contest on an 11-0 run to pick up a 35-23 victory. With the win, they improved to 2-1 on the season.
The Gators played a close game with the Bobcats in the first half, but the Bobcats pulled away in the second half to hand them a 57-38 loss. With the loss, the Gators moved to 2-1 on the season.
The Lady Hornets began the day with a 29-10 win as they completely shut down the offense of the Eaglettes. With the win, the Lady Hornets improved to 3-3 on the season.
The Hornets fell into a big hole in the first half and were not able to recover as they took a 60-28 loss away from home. With the loss, the Hornets moved to 1-5 on the season.
