Two Huntland Middle School defenders wrap up a South Lincoln ball carrier for a tackle during a scrimmage game as part of a jamboree held at Lincoln County High School Saturday.
The Huntland Middle School Hornets competed in the Lions Club jamboree held at Lincoln County High School Saturday, falling narrowly to the South Lincoln Middle School Eagles 6-0.
The jamboree featured teams from the Elk Valley Conference and served as a final scrimmage for the teams involved before the beginning of the season on Thursday.
The Hornets played a close game with the lone score coming with three minutes remaining to give the Eagles a narrow victory in the exhibition.

The middle school Hornets will open their season Thursday with a game at Moore County Middle School. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
