Four local middle school basketball teams were in action Thursday as the varsity teams of North Middle School split their games on the road and the teams from South Middle School split their game at home.
The Gators and Gatorettes played the teams from White County Middle School while the Trojans and Lady Trojans took on East Middle School.
The Lady Trojans overcame a halftime deficit and ended their game on a big run to beat the Lady Panthers 29-26. With the win, the Lady Trojans improved to 1-1 on the season.
The Trojans got off to a fast start in their contest and maintained a big lead from there as they were able to beat the Panthers 57-25. With the win, they moved to 2-0 on the season.
The Gatorettes took an early lead in their game against the Lady Warriors, but the Lady Warriors rallied in the fourth quarter to win 27-22. With the loss, the Gatorettes moved to 1-1 on the season.
The Gators dominated their game from the opening tip as they outscored the Warriors in every quarter and went on to win 60-27. With the win, they improved to 2-0 on the season.
