Franklin County’s Dawson Powers winds up for the pitch during a game Monday against Blackman High School. Powers threw seven innings and allowed just two runs which were both unearned, but took a no-decision in the loss.
The Franklin County Rebels fell to the Blackman High School Blazes 5-2 in eight innings at home Monday to be eliminated from their regional tournament.
The lead switched between the two teams several times and the Rebels tied it up at 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth.
The Rebels had the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the seventh and the game still tied, but were not able to bring in the winning run.
The Blazes then scored three in the eighth inning to take the lead and finished off the Rebels from there.
With the loss, the Rebels finished their season with a record of 22-16.
