Rebels outlast Columbia Central on penalty kicks for key district win

Rebels players celebrate near midfield after beating Columbia Central on penalty kicks Thursday for a key home win near the end of the season.
The Franklin County Rebels beat the Columbia Central High School Lions in a penalty kick shootout at home Thursday after playing to a 1-1 draw through regulation and two overtimes.
The Rebels outscored the Lions 3-0 in the shootout for their seventh win of the season after some big saves from goalie Zach Taylor.
With the win, the Rebels improved to 7-2 on the season.

The Rebels will next play Tuesday at home against White County High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
