Farmers Market

Franklin County Farmers Market on Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester, opens Saturdays at 7 a.m. offering eggs, meats, vegetables, plants, arts and crafts and more. This Saturday, five drawings will be held to give away $20 tokens to be used at the market. Children will receive goodie bags.

Rabies vaccinations

Discounted rabies vaccines can be obtained by stopping by Animal Care Center, 931-967-6345; Midtown Veterinary,  931- 962-3411; or Town and Country Veterinary Hospital, 931-967-3666. Give one of the local clinics a call and let them know you plan to bring your pet by for a rabies vaccination.  Cost is $12 per pet.

Free flu shots, COVID shots, testing and kits

The Franklin County Health Department, 266 Joyce Lane, Winchester, offers COVID testing at no charge as well as free COVID shots for qualifying age groups Monday through Friday from 1-4 p.m. while supplies are available. Call 931-967-3826.

Head Start enrollment

South Central Human Resource Agency Early Head Start and Head Start is accepting applications. Early Head Start is for pregnant women and children from six weeks to three years. Head Start is for ages 3-5 years. Center and virtual options are available. Winchester Head Start is located at 677 Myers Road, Winchester. Trails and Trilliums

The Friends of South Cumberland State Park invite everyone to register for Trails and Trilliums on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the grounds of the DuBose Conference Center in Monteagle.
