Bears that Care Toy Drive

The Tennessee State Highway Patrol is currently holding its Bears that Care Toy Drive. Please bring unwrapped toys and place them in the drop box at the Franklin County Judicial Center, located next to the Franklin County Jail, or at Hall Furniture in Winchester. All toys stay in the county in which they are donated. Please drop off toys by Dec. 15.

Free flu shots & COVID testing

The Franklin County Health Department is offering free flu shots by appointment. Drive-up COVID-19 testing is also available. The office is located at 266 Joyce Lane, For information, call 931-967-3826.

NRCS assistance

The US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service is accepting applications from producers and landowners interested in implementing conservation practices to improve natural resources on their farm or forest land. FC Christmas Market

Franklin County’s Christmas Market will be held Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the old football field, 833 Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester. This is a family-fun event for all with Santa, a Kiwanis bike giveaway and local craft vendors. For info, email recoverycoalitionfc@gmail.com

Christmas parade

The Huntland Christmas Parade will be held Dec. 12 starting at 1 p.m. from Huntland School and proceeding up Main Street. Lineup will begin at 11 a.m. at Huntland School. Judging is at noon.

Blood drive

A Red Cross blood drive will be held Dec. 18 from 1-7 p.m. at Winchester Church of Christ, 1230 South College St., Winchester. Download the American Red Cross Blood Donor app, visit  RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the blood-donor skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed.
