Free flu shots, COVID testing
The Tennessee Department of Health is offering free drive-thru flu vaccines at health departments by appointment only. The Franklin County Health Department is also offering COVID-19 testing. No appointment or referral is required. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is located at 266 Joyce Lane, Winchester. Call 931-967-3826 for information.
The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is accepting end-of-year nominations for outstanding young person (one to watch), outstanding citizen of the year, large business of the year and small business of the year. Senior Center temporarily closed
The Franklin County Senior Citizens Center will remain closed through Nov. 30. A reopening date has not been determined. The staff is working limited hours and can be reached at 931-967-9853. If there is no answer, leave a message and your call will be returned.

The US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service is accepting applications from producers and landowners interested in implementing conservation practices to improve natural resources on their farm or forest land. Host of Christmas Past
The annual Host of Christmas Past will be held in downtown Fayetteville Friday and Saturday. Attendees may shop and dine while practicing CDC guidelines. Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The day kicks off with Bella’s Snow Ball 5k starting at First Baptist Church’s The Hub on Main Avenue North. Enjoy musical performances throughout the day starting at 9 a.m. A Kids Village will be located at the corner of North Elk and College. Everyone is invited to Estill Springs Lions Club’s turkey shoots Nov. 14-15 at 1 p.m. each day at the Roger Crawford property, 308 Rock Creek Road (just off Hwy. 41A) in Estill Springs. There will be rounds for turkeys and cash prizes. A $5 contribution furthers Lions’ community projects. Shells will be provided and must be used. Only standard hunting-type guns will be permitted. This is an outdoor event and social distancing is encouraged. Concessions will be available. Lions will be collecting nonperishable food items to donate to a local church food bank.
Free flu shots
A free flu-shot event will be held at Franklin County High School, 833 Bypass Road, Winchester, on Nov. 19 from 3:45-6:45 p.m. The event is being held by health departments of Tennessee.
Disney’s Moana Jr.

The City of Manchester will hold their Christmas parade Nov. 28 along Highways 41 and 55. The theme will be childhood dreams of Christmas. The lineup starts at 5 p.m. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. Entries must register by Nov. 20. Forms are at www.cityof manchestertn.com.
The 64th annual Tullahoma Christmas Parade will be held Dec. 4 starting at 7 p.m. The route will begin near the Tullahoma Chamber, 135 W. Lincoln St., Tullahoma and continue up N. Jackson St., ending at Tullahoma High School. Float entry fee is $50. Visit www.tullahoma.org for more information.
