End-of-year nominations

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is accepting end-of-year nominations for outstanding young person (one to watch), outstanding citizen of the year, large business of the year and small business of the year. NRCS assistance

The US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service is accepting applications from producers and landowners interested in implementing conservation practices to improve natural resources on their farm or forest land. Blood drive

Blood Assurance will hold a blood drive Nov. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Franklin Manor, 3619 Cowan Hwy., Winchester. To schedule an appointment visit bloodassurance.org/franklinmanor116. Nov. 7-8 & 14-15

Turkey shoots

Everyone is invited to the Estill Springs Lions Club’s turkey shoots Nov. 7-8 and Nov. 14-15 at 1 p.m. each day at the Roger Crawford property, 308 Rock Creek Road (just off Hwy. 41A) in Estill Springs. There will be rounds for turkeys and cash prizes. A $5 contribution furthers Lions’ community projects. Shells will be provided and must be used. Only standard hunting-type guns will be permitted. This is an outdoor event and social distancing is encouraged. Concessions will be available. Lions will be collecting nonperishable food items to donate to a local church food bank.

Veterans Day program

Everyone is invited to a Veterans Day program Wednesday at 11 a.m. on the west side of the Winchester Square. This event is sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1893. Speakers will include Ray Cobb, Bobby Clark and Rev. Bill Midget.

Wobble Gobble 5K run & walk
