Free flu shots

The Tennessee Department of Health is offering free drive-thru flu vaccines at the Franklin County Health Department, 266 Joyce Lane, Winchester. Call 931-967-3826.

F.C. Historical Society meeting canceled

Due to the persistent spread of the coronavirus in Franklin County, the Franklin County Historical Society’s fall membership meeting, normally held this month, has been canceled.  

Senior Center closed

The Franklin County Senior Citizens Center will remain closed thru Oct. 31.

Community health fair

Everyone is welcome to attend a community health-related fair today from 4-7 p.m. in the May Justus Memorial Library parking lot, 24 Dixie Lee Ave., Monteagle. The drive-thru fair offers free giveaways and resources for residents of Franklin, Grundy and Marion counties. Please stay in your car and wait to be directed through the line to receive: medication lockboxes, fresh produce, Naloxone training, diapers and resource information. Take back drugs also accepted.

Butch Patrick at AACA Car Show

Butch Patrick, perhaps best known worldwide as “Eddie Munster” from the TV show “The Munsters,” will make an appearance Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 51st annual Tims Ford Region AACA Car Show at John L. Sanders Ball Park, 117 College St., Decherd. Stop by his booth and share memories with him from the TV show. Admission to the car show is free. Concessions available. Registration and entry fee for those who wish to enter a vehicle in the show is $15 or $10 for a second car. Register cars from 8 a.m. to noon with awards at 3 p.m. Door prizes will be presented as well as 50/50 drawings and dash plaques.

Wine, Whiskers and Fancy Treats

Animal Harbor’s Wine, Whiskers and Fancy Treats is Saturday at 6 p.m. at LaBella Pearl’s, Sewanee. Enjoy wine, heavy hors d’oeuvres and music on the beautiful outdoor patio. Highland Rim Scottish Society chili cook-off

Everyone is welcome to attend the Highland Rim Scottish Society chili cook-off Sunday from noon to 3:30 p.m. at Frazier McEwen Park, 216 Big Springs Ave., Tullahoma. Everyone is invited to join in for Lee Gibson’s Woof Stock: 2, featuring a night of fun and entertainment at the Honeysuckle, 60 Slip-Away, Winchester, on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. Enjoy music and a live auction with items from country music artists and local merchants. Trunk or treat
