The Tennessee Department of Health is offering free drive-thru flu vaccines at health departments by appointment only. The Franklin County Health Department is located at 266 Joyce Lane, Winchester. Call 931-967-3826.

Senior Center closed

The Franklin County Senior Citizens Center will remain closed through Oct. 31.  An opening date has not been determined.  The staff is working limited hours and can be reached at 967-9853. If no answer, leave a message.

The Franklin County Republican Party invites everyone to bonfire night tonight at the Peters-Davis farm behind Factory Furniture in Estill Springs. Bring a chair and enjoy an evening of music, barbecue and speeches starting at 5:30 p.m.

Turkey trot

Hospice of the Highland Rim Foundation invites runners and walkers of all ages to enter a 5K turkey trot run/walk and one-mile fun run featuring a moderate, out-and-back paved trail Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Tims Ford State Park. Check in at 7:30 a.m. at the visitor center. Community health fair

A community health fair will be held Oct. 15 from 4-7 p.m. in the May Justus Memorial Library parking lot, 24 Dixie Lee Ave., Monteagle. The fair offers free giveaways and resources for all in need in Franklin, Grundy and Marion counties. Please stay in your car and wait to be directed through the line to receive various items including: medication lockboxes, fresh produce, Naloxone training, diapers, resource information and more.
