The Motlow State Theatre Department is eager to welcome thousands of area children with its free production of “Madagascar — A Musical Adventure” on the Moore County campus inside Eoff Hall, Powers Auditorium.

A public performance will be held Friday at 7 p.m. A reception will be held at 6 p.m.

Admission is free, but reservations are recommended and donations are appreciated. All money raised will benefit the Theatre Department or be used for items needed in the auditorium.

Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, “Madagascar – A Musical Adventure” follows Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo and, of course, hilarious plotting penguins as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.
