Grocery/food distribution

Christ the King Anglican Church, 1231 Cumberland St., Decherd, welcomes all in need to receive free groceries and food Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. in the church parking lot. Organizers ask everyone to please remain in your car once you are in the parking lot. This event is held in association with Feed America First.

Blue Christmas

St. Mary’s Sewanee invites anyone whose holidays are full of joylessness to join in a free Zoom service Saturday at 6 p.m. The ecumenical service, based on Ezekiel 47 and led by Rev. Amanda Diamond, a United Methodist pastor, will include activities that not only allow participants to acknowledge their grief, but to walk through it to a hope revealed. Everyone is invited to enjoy a pleasant time of worship and fellowship during a Christmas service and reception Sunday at 4 p.m. at New Creation Ministries, Old Rayburn Chapel, 205 S. Sycamore St., Cowan.

Candlelight communion

Everyone is invited to a candlelight family communion service Sunday at 6:15 p.m. at Cowan First Baptist Church, 316 W. Cumberland St., Cowan.

Christmas play

Everyone is invited to “The True Meaning of Christmas” play Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 112 Sipes St., Winchester.

Zen Buddhist meditation/study

Tullahoma Sangha, a Zen Buddhist meditation and study group, meets Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma, 3536 New Manchester Hwy., Tullahoma.  The service will consist of zazen (meditation), a short lesson, and discussion.   Newcomers may call 931-588-8935, for a short orientation at 5:45 p.m. Face masks are required.

All are welcome to celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord with a traditional Christmas Eve service Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. at St. Agnes’ Episcopal Church.

Candlelight Christmas Eve service

Everyone is invited to join in to celebrate the reason for the season during a candlelight Christmas Eve service Dec. 24 at 5 p.m. at Cowan Fellowship Church, 609 E. Cumberland St., Cowan.
