Feb. 13

Food distribution

Morton Memorial United Methodist Church, 322 West Main St., Monteagle, will provide their monthly curbside food distribution for all in need on Saturday from 8-10 a.m. Drivers should enter from behind the church and they will be directed to the loading area. Please wear a mask and remain in the vehicle. Volunteers wearing masks and gloves will help anyone who is unable to load their vehicle. First-time recipients will be asked to complete a short form.

St. Thomas Mobile Medical Unit

The St. Thomas Mobile Medical Unit will be present Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Morton Memorial United Methodist Church, 322 West Main St., Monteagle. The clinic welcomes all regardless of insurance status. All visits are covered by a generous grant from the South Cumberland Community Fund. The grant also covers co-pays and deductibles for people who have insurance. All prescription costs, provided through RxOutreach, are covered by a donation from Ascension Saint Thomas.

Feb. 17

Ash Wednesday service

A community Ash Wednesday service will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Cowan First Baptist Church, 316 W. Cumberland St., Cowan. All are asked to be mindful of state and local advisories with respect to social distancing and wearing of masks.

Feb. 20

Grocery/food distribution

Christ the King Anglican Church, 1231 Cumberland St., Decherd, in association with Feed America First, will distribute free groceries and food to anyone in need on a first-come, first-serve basis on Feb. 20 beginning at 9 a.m. in the church parking lot. Attendees are asked not get out of their vehicles upon arrival in the parking lot.
