Feb. 8

Food distribution

The food ministry at Morton Memorial Church, 322 W. Main St., Monteagle, will distribute food to those in need Saturday at their fellowship center. Distribution starts at 9 a.m. This service is made possible in large part by support from the Monteagle-Sewanee Rotary Club’s Hunger Walk and relies on almost 50 volunteers.

Morton Memorial UMC

Pastor Jodi McCullah welcomes everyone to services on Sunday at 11 a.m. at Morton Memorial United Methodist Church, 322 W. Main St. in Monteagle. His sermon will be from 1 Corinthians 2:1-16. Coffee will be served at 10:30 a.m. A well-staffed nursery is available.

Church anniversary

Wesley Heights United Methodist Church will celebrate their 60th anniversary Feb 15-16.  A potluck dinner will be held Feb. 15 starting at 5 p.m. at the church, located at 2101 E. Lincoln St. in Tullahoma. Sunday school on Feb. 16 is at 9:45 a.m. followed by worship at 10:50 a.m. with special guest Rev. John P. Williams of Nashville delivering the message. He was the church’s pastor from 1980 to 1983. A celebration luncheon follows. Pastor Rev. Shebbie Shields welcomes guests, friends and former members.

Wings of Hope

All widows are invited to the Wings of Hope Widow’s Ministry lunch and learn featuring a presentation on “How to Budget your Money” on Feb. 17 at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 213 First Ave. NW, Winchester. Lunch will be provided ($3 suggested donation). A widow is any woman who has lost the protection and provision of her husband through death, divorce, desertion or imprisonment. Pastors’ summit

Area pastors, deacons and church leaders are urged to attend a pastor’s summit Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Rain Teen Center, 1910 Sharp Springs Road, Winchester. Lunch will be provided. Topics include One Voice, a collaboration between faith-based organizations working together for the benefit of Franklin County. The goal is to create a network of support and to gain a better understanding of the services currently provided in the community and identify gaps that need to be closed. Pastors will leave with a greater understanding of the community needs and services offered and how their churches can network in meeting the needs of their congregations and community.
