Summer VBS

All children are invited to a free summer Vacation Bible School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the summer at Grace Center of Hope located at 912 S. College St., Winchester. Children will enjoy active games, drawing, Legos, puppet shows, stories, snacks and more. Grace Center of Hope is a nonprofit children’s community center that is a growing, safe place where school aged children can have fun and experience the love of Jesus Christ.  VBS is now underway and children may join in at any time but must have permission forms signed to participate.

Zen Buddhist Meditation & study

Tullahoma Sangha, a Zen Buddhist meditation and study group, meets each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma.  The service will consist of zazen (meditation), kinhin (walking meditation) and a short lesson and discussion.   Newcomers are welcome; please call ahead for a short orientation at 5:45 p.m.  The church is located at 3536 New Manchester Hwy. in Tullahoma.  Info., 931-588-8935.

June 5-8

Youth revival

Youth revival services at Huntland Emmanuel Church of Christ, 203 Cumberland Blvd., Huntland on Wednesday at 7 p.m. with Bro. Nathaniel Nicholson; Thursday at 7 p.m. with Bro. Brent Vinson; Friday at 7 p.m. with Bro. Josh Spain; and Saturday at 10 a.m. with Sister Christina Grammer with lunch following. Different speakers and singers will be provided each night.

June 8

Benefit auction / BBQ, hot dog supper

Benefit auction Saturday from 3-5 p.m. at Apostolic Church of Restoration, 324 W. Cumberland St. in Cowan. Enjoy barbecue, hot dogs or cheeseburger with chips, drink $5. Auction at 5 p.m.

June 9


Annual homecoming at Alto Methodist Church on Rutledge Ford Road in Alto Sunday at 10 a.m. Enjoy special singing followed by lunch and fellowship.


Homecoming Sunday at 11 a.m. at Keith Springs Baptist Church, 1055 Keith Springs Mountain Road. Pastor Ron Taylor will speak. Lunch served followed by singing with The Modesitt Family, Brittany Miller and Danny Nunley.

Unitarian Universalist

Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma’s speaker Sunday at 10 a.m. will be Gayle Ibarra who will speak on the mission of Better Angels, a national citizens’ movement created to reduce national political polarization in the U.S. by bringing liberals and conservative together to understand each other.   The service will be followed by refreshments and a discussion period.  The church is located at 3536 New Manchester Hwy in Tullahoma.

Joint service

Trinity, Winchester and Christ Church, Alto will celebrate the Feast of Pentecost with a joint service Sunday at 10 a.m. hosted by Christ Church, Alto. All are welcome to attend this festive worship service and stay for a picnic lunch and a game of corn hole. Consider wearing red, which is the color of the day. The church is located at 9616 Old Alto Hwy., Alto. There will be no services at Trinity Sunday.

June 10-13


All students entering kindergarten through those who have completed fifth grade are invited to Estill Springs and Harris Chapel United Methodist churches’ “Mighty Fortress Vacation Bible School” Monday through Thursday at Estill Springs United Methodist Church, 215 Eastbrook Road. June 10 from 9 a.m. to noon; June 11-12 from 9:30 a.m. to noon and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday is fun day with games and activities. Lunch served each day. Vacation Bible School at Crossroads Baptist Church, 2662 Eastbrook Road, Estill Springs Monday through Friday from 5-8:15 p.m. for ages 3 through fifth grade plus a youth group. Meal furnished each night, Bible study, arts, crafts, music and more. All are welcome.

The entire family is invited to “Farm Fresh Faith” Vacation Bible School Wednesday through Friday from 5-8:30 p.m. at Broadview Baptist Church, 3477 Lynchburg Road, Winchester. Pre-school through adults. Enjoy a light supper at 5 p.m. followed by lessons, fun and gardening.

The community is invited to a unity prayer service June 23 from 8-9 a.m. at the old Franklin County High School stadium on Dinah Shore Boulevard in Winchester. Pastors and community leaders especially urged to attend.
