Easter egg hunt maze

Everyone is invited to a free Easter egg hunt maze March 25-27 at Vision Church, 112 First Ave. SE, Winchester. This COVID-friendly event will enable each family to hunt eggs in their own individual time slot. Every child will receive a special prize and family photos will be printed on site (sponsored by Ever Creative). March 25 will be reserved to children with disabilities and sensory sensitivity. Easter egg hunt & party

Everyone is invited to the Decherd Church of God annual Easter egg hunt and party featuring food, prizes, games and so much more on March 27 from 2-3:30 p.m. The church is located at 1300 W. Market St., Decherd. Children will be separated by age groups. The event promises that every child in each age group will have plenty of eggs to hunt.

April 1

Maundy Thursday service

Everyone is invited to a Maundy Thursday service, which recalls Jesus’ Last Supper in the upper room with the Disciples on the night before his arrest. The service is based on events recorded in The Gospel According to John 13: 1-15 and in Luke 22: 14-20. Visit www.CowanChurches.org for details on services.

Video sermon

The various Cowan churches will forgo a shared Maundy Thursday gathering this year. In its place, Rev. Pittenger will share a video sermon about the Last Supper. The video will be posted at www.cowanchurches.org and on Facebook.com/cowanchurches.

Good Friday service

The various Cowan churches will gather at St. Agnes’ Episcopal Church April 2, at 5 p.m. for a Good Friday service. This service recalls the events of Jesus’ arrest, trial, crucifixion, death and burial. All are welcome.

Easter sunrise service

Everyone is invited to Easter sunrise service April 4 at 6:30 a.m. at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery. All are invited to celebrate the discovery of the empty tomb and the joyful news that Jesus is risen.

Easter Sunday with musical guest Russ Taff

Everyone is invited to attend Easter Sunday at the Decherd Church of God featuring special music by Grammy and Dove award winner Russ Taff. Children’s church will perform an Easter show. Senior Pastor Dr. Don Baker will bring a special Easter message. Free gifts will be provided for all in attendance. Sunday school for all ages starts at 10 a.m. followed by worship service at 11 a.m. and children’s church at 11 a.m. The church is located at 1300 W. Market St., Decherd.

April 17

Free Zoom prayer retreat

Everyone is welcome to join in a free Zoom prayer retreat workshop April 17 from 9-11 a.m. Participants will enjoy an unstructured conversation about the journey and the practice of centering prayer. It is open to the curious beginner, the experienced practitioner and those in between.
