Plantar fasciitis is most often the result of repetitive activity that eventually breaks down the soft, spongy tissue on the bottom of the feet.

Working long hours on a hard surface day in and day out, continuous athletic activity, and age are all contributing factors to this painful condition.

Symptoms of plantar fasciitis include extreme discomfort in the heel area

upon arising and the sensation that tissues are ripping and

tearing while trying to walk.

Chiropractic adjustments can help relieve this painful condition by removing

subluxations (misalignments) that can compromise the function of the joint and cause tightness and strain.

Therapies such as electrical muscle stimulation, ice or heat therapy,

therapeutic ultrasound, manual therapy technique, dry needling and percussion massage will all help contribute to the healing process.

I usually encourage my patients to incorporate stretching and exercises into their routine.

Another option to help alleviate the inflammation and discomfort is the use of

orthotics.

We provide foot scanning through Foot Levelers and can order the orthotics

through them.

Plantar fasciitis can be debilitating and healing can take several months.

Regular monthly chiropractic care can help prevent this very painful condition
