Senior Center is open

The Franklin County Senior Center, 74 Clover Dr., Winchester, is open each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (closed Wednesdays). Masks are required. Call Charlene Ledford at 931-967-9853 for information or check their Facebook page.

Franklin County Farmers Market, Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester, opens each Saturday at 7 a.m. Shop for local eggs, meats, vegetables, plants, arts, crafts, baked goods and much more.

Just a Walk in the Park

Everyone is invited to Just a Walk in the Park Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hank Weddington Park, located on Main St. in Decherd. Enjoy visiting a variety of vendors featuring crafts, direct sales, car parts, yard sales, food trucks and more. For more information or to be a vendor, call Sherrie Sons, 931-308-3802. Public town hall meeting

Members of the community are invited to a public town hall on Monday at 7 p.m. at Sewanee Elementary to discuss the obstruction removal and avigation easement project for the runway approach at the Sewanee-Franklin County airport.  County officials and Sewanee administrators will be there to answer questions.  Midway residents, stakeholders and all concerned citizens are encouraged to attend to ask any questions and raise any concerns about this issue.  Please wear your mask. One Day Community Outreach

All are welcome to One Day Community Outreach May 8. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 100 S. Jefferson St., Winchester. Services include free dental, medical and eye exams, food and clothing distributions, lunch, entertainment and haircuts. One Day is set up at First United Methodist Church and at First Baptist Church, 108 S. High St., Winchester.

Alzheimer’s TN Purple Olympics

Alzheimer’s Tennessee's Purple Olympics will be held May 8 starting at 9 a.m. with registration and entertainment in the Tullahoma High School gym. An Olympic parade will begin at 10 a.m. The games begin at 10:30 a.m. Enjoy brain healthy games, musical entertainment, free food, door prizes and fun for all ages. Motlow State Community College will host its 2021 virtual commencement ceremony May 9 at 2 p.m. Graduates, friends and families as well as the public may view the ceremony at Motlow.com/graduation.

The 2021 Huntland Alumni Banquet (scheduled for May 14) has been canceled. Huntland Alumni resumes its yearly schedule May 21.

Decoration Day

Decoration Day at Frame Cemetery in the Hurdlow community of Moore County is being postponed until June 13. A covered-dish lunch will be held at 12:30 p.m. followed by memorial services at 2 p.m.
