Al-Anon

Al-Anon’s “Peace and Serenity” group meets each Thursday from 7-8 p.m. at Winchester First United Methodist Church, 100 S. Jefferson St. in Winchester. The “Faith Alive” Al-Anon group meets Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 101 Bragg Circle in Tullahoma. The “Serenity Seekers” meet Mondays and Fridays at 7 p.m. at Serenity House, 313 Collins Ave. in Tullahoma. All who are concerned about a loved one’s drinking are welcome.

Rummage sale

Rummage sale Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m. to noon at 107 Cumberland St. in Cowan. Proceeds benefit Cowan Rail Road Museum.

May 11

Post office Food drive

The US Post Office and letter carriers’ annual food drive is Saturday. Hang non-perishable food items on the mailbox for the carrier to pick up. All food goes to local food banks.

P.E.O. meeting

     Chapter Z Tennessee of the International P.E.O. Sisterhood will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. All unaffiliated members of the P.E.O. Sisterhood in the Middle Tennessee area are welcome.  Call 931-962-0202 for information.

Republican Party Hosts open forum

Franklin County Republican Party will host an open forum, “Help Us Lead” featuring a question and answer session with elected leaders May 16 at 6 p.m. in the large Franklin County Annex meeting room. All elected officials are invited to participate.

F.C. Federated Republican Women

Franklin County Federated Republican Women luncheon meeting May 16 at 11 a.m. at Oasis Restaurant in Winchester. Meeting starts at 11:30 a.m.

Rummage sale May 17-18 from 7 a.m. to noon at 107 Cumberland St. in Cowan. Proceeds benefit Cowan Railroad Museum.

Decoration Day at Estill Springs Cemetery

     Estill Springs Cemetery Committee invites everyone to Decoration Day May 18 starting at 10 a.m. at Estill Springs Cemetery located on Taylor Road in Estill Springs. Tools and American flags provided. Volunteers will be available to assist in cleaning and filling sunken graves. For history buffs and others, the committee will provide fascinating historical information. This cemetery is one of the oldest in Franklin County with burials dating from 1821, including at least 17 marked Civil War graves.

Broadview Fish fry

Broadview Volunteer Fire Department fish fry May 18, 3-7 p.m. at the fire department located at 5253 Lynchburg Road in Winchester. Adult meal is $10, children, $5. Enjoy catfish or chicken strips, slaw, hushpuppies, beans, fries, dessert and drink.

Huntland Alumni Banquet & reunion

Huntland Alumni Banquet and Reunion May 18 at Huntland School cafeteria. Social hour is 5 p.m. followed by the meal at 6 p.m. Cost is $20 per plate. Honoring 1949 and 1950 football teams. Send reservations/money to Alumni, PO Box 116, Huntland, TN 37345.

Everyone is invited to a mother / son dance May 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Winchester First United Methodist Church, 100 S. Jefferson St., Winchester. Cost is $30 per person or $60 couple and $5 for an additional child. Tickets includes dinner and formal photos. Attire is Sunday best or your favorite super hero. Sponsored by Bon Temps and Winchester First UMC. Tickets available at Winchester UMC, Blue Front Drugs or 2nd Base Screen Printing and from Bon Temps members. Proceeds benefit Campora Family Resource Center.

June 6

Spaghetti supper fundraiser

Everyone is invited to Franklin County Senior Citizens Center's spaghetti supper fundraiser June 6 from 4-7 p.m. at the Senior Center located at 74 Clover Dr. in Winchester. Cost is $8 per plate with eat in or take out available. Meal includes spaghetti, salad, bread and drink. Entertainment provided by Pure Country band. For tickets call 931-967-9853.

FCHS Class of 1984 35-year reunion

FCHS Class of ’69 reunion

     Franklin County High School Class of 1969’s 50-year reunion is July 26, from 6-10 a.m.  at Winchester Livery, 122 N. Jefferson St., Winchester.  Cost is $30 per person or $60 per couple. Make reservations by July 12 by mailing check or money order to Mike & Dianne Yates, 2811 Old Tullahoma Road, Winchester, TN 37398. Make check out to “Class of ‘69.” Additional donations toward the reunion are appreciated.
