Franklin County added another two cases Thursday to the coronavirus infection list, setting the total at three thus far, according to Health Department statistics.
As a result of the disease’s presence in the immediate area, the Health Department is offering coronavirus tests, Public Information Officer Amanda Goodhard said.
Goodhard said that anyone with breathing conditions and other flu-like symptoms common with COVID-19 should first consult with their physician, who can probably administer a coronavirus test.
If that isn’t an option, testing can be done at the Health Department’s office at 266 Joyce Lane in Winchester, she said.
Goodhard said anyone wishing to access the Health Department should call 931-967-3826 for further information and to set up an appointment. She added that strict social-distancing practices are in place due to the coronavirus threat.
In addition to Franklin County, one coronavirus case has been reported in Lincoln County, four in Grundy County, two in Marion, one in Bedford and none in Coffee.
Statewide totals Thursday were 957, up by 173 from the day before.
Nationwide, 994 have died from the coronavirus.
