Bone drop

One lucky person will win big money during Animal Harbor’s annual bone drop on Aug. 7 at noon at the shelter, 56 Nor-Nan Road, Winchester. Bones are now available for $100 each for a chance to win: first prize, $3,000; second, $1,500; or third, $500. Signup forms can be found at www.animalharbor.org. Animal Harbor’s annual bone drop will be held Aug. 7 at noon at the shelter, 56 Nor-Nan Road, Winchester.

To get in on this exciting chance to win big money, simply buy a bone for $100 each for a chance to win: first prize, $3,000; second, $1,500; or third, $500.

Bones will be dropped from a lift truck onto a large target below with the three bones landing closest to the center bullseye winning the loot.

Prize money will be rewarded contingent upon selling 150 bones.

To get involved, drop off payment (cash or check only) and a signup form for however many bones you wish to purchase at the Harbor.

Payment may also be mailed with a signup form to Animal Harbor, P.O. Box 187, Winchester, TN 37398. Signup forms can be found at www.animalharbor.org.

Animal Harbor

Proceeds from the bone drop will go toward taking care of homeless, adoptable pets at Animal Harbor, a limited-admission animal shelter facility serving Franklin County.

Animal Harbor is operated by members of the Franklin County Humane Society, a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.

Animal Harbor’s mission is to:

•        Provide healthcare and temporary shelter for lost and homeless companion animals;

•        Find new loving homes for these pets;

•        Reduce pet overpopulation by promoting spaying and neutering;

•        Promote animal welfare through education;

•        Maintain a no-kill policy except for reasons of mercy or dangerous temperament.

The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
