Hold on and grab your wings because everyone is invited to the ninth annual AngelFest on Oct. 4 in Sewanee, featuring the Eaglemaniacs, family activities, food and much more.
The Sewanee Business Alliance is offering all of this free to the community. The fun starts at 4:30 p.m. on University Avenue, which will be closed for traffic to ensure everyone’s safety.
The Eaglemaniacs will take the stage on the pavilion at 7 p.m., performing the music of the Eagles and Don Henley.
Another first at AngelFest this year will be the addition of a crafters/farmers market this year with local vendors displaying their wares. There will also be plenty of food and refreshments available.
Joseph’s Remodeling Solutions is sponsoring three full hours of family activities in the downtown village including: make-and-take art, science fun, two bounce houses, an inflatable wrecking ball, snow cones, cotton candy, wildlife to pet and hold, face painting, Animal Harbor pets, a visit from the Red-tailed Hawk animal ambassador and more.
The popular reverse raffle will also take place. Tickets have been on sale since early in the summer for $100 each.
The grand prize of up to $5,000 (depending on total ticket sales) will be awarded to a lucky ticket-holder during the evening’s festivities.
Proceeds from the raffle will go to Housing Sewanee and Sewanee Angel Park. Tickets will be available at several of the local Sewanee merchants and on the web at sewaneeangelpark.com up until the time of the drawing.
