CSX Transportation Inc. is repairing railroad crossings in Decherd at Mill and Main streets this week, and those roads will be temporarily closed to accommodate upgrades.

Mill Street will be closed Tuesday, beginning in the morning, and an announcement has not been made about when the repair work will be completed, according to a report from the Board of Mayor and Aldermen at Monday’s meeting.

Main Street will be closed Wednesday through Friday to accommodate upgrades to the crossing there.

Interim Police Chief Kenneth Griffin and Interim Fire Chief Charles Williams told the board that plans have been made to be able to provide emergency services on both sides of the railroad tracks while the crossings are temporarily closed.
