Grundy County resident James Allen Worley was sentenced Tuesday to 150 years in prison after being convicted of four counts of rape of a child and one count of attempted rape of a child last year.
Judge Justin Angel sentenced the 150 years to run consecutively. The defendant received a sentence of 35 years for each count of rape of a child and 10 years for the attempted rape of a child.
“In almost 30 years of law enforcement, this is the most heinous case of child rape I’ve ever seen,” Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum said. “I am proud of the investigative and prosecutorial work done in this case.
"I also want this to serve as notice to any child-sex predator. These cases will be aggressively investigated and prosecuted. To my knowledge, this is the longest sentence ever handed down in Grundy County and rightfully so.”
