Courtnee Ann Mayes and Whitson Glenn Moore were married in an outdoor wedding ceremony on May 25, 2019, in Winchester.

Courtnee Ann Mayes and Whitson Glenn Moore were united in marriage on May 25, 2019, at an intimate family ceremony atop a hill in a field of corn on their farm.

The bride is the daughter of Sheree Sprehe Mayes of Huntland and the late Craig Mayes. She is the granddaughter of Wilma (Danny) Holden of Tullahoma and the late Roy Sprehe and also Byron and Vera Mayes of Huntland.

The bridegroom is the son of Kelly and Gina Moore of Winchester. He is the grandson of Gracie Burrum Moore of Winchester and the late Floyd Glenn Moore Jr. and Jim and Joy Gallagher of Winchester.

Officiating the ceremony was the Reverend Blake Stephens. Nuptial music was presented by Leslie Stephens.

Escorted by her grandfather, the bride wore a designer mermaid-style gown of ivory lace with a sweetheart neckline, lace-edged tulle cap sleeves and a keyhole back bordered above and below by satin covered buttons.

Cascading layers of scalloped lace completed her vintage-inspired look. The bride’s hair, styled in a romantic up-do by her mother, was adorned with a wispy pearl headband paired with an ivory fingertip tulle veil with lace edging.

She wore Swarovski crystal earrings and bracelet and her mother’s wedding garter and carried a bouquet that was a fresh gathering of mixed spring flowers tied with lace-covered burlap ribbon.

Seating included vintage white church pews and hay bales covered with assorted family heirloom quilts.

Mason jars filled with white hydrangea blooms and baby’s breath were hung from shepherd’s hooks which lined the aisle that was anchored on either end by Jack Daniel’s barrels topped with fresh spring bouquets.

The wedding arch was made by the groom and the brother of the bride, Connor Mayes, from century-old barn beams from the Moore Family Farm. The arch featured a centerpiece spray of spring flowers in blue, coral, purple, white and yellow.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s paternal grandparents hosted a dinner reception at Old Mill Manor.

The couple was showered with gifts and well wishes at prenuptial parties given by Shellee Nunley and Wilma Holden and also by the Owens Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

A poolside party celebrating the couple was hosted by Deborah Bailey, Holly Cortner, Anna Garner, Linda Little, Felicia Martin and Laura Rowland. A wedding celebration and pig roast was hosted by the couple’s parents.

Following a trip to Jamaica, the couple is back at home in Winchester.
