STREAM Coordinator Chelle Daniels has accepted a position in Tullahoma that resulted in several position changes in the Franklin County School System and has aided an effort to make staff reductions through attrition to meet a financial goal.
Director of Schools Stanley Bean said Friday that Daniels accepted a position at Tullahoma’s East Middle School. She had previously taught in the Tullahoma system at West Middle School.
Bean said he offered Daniels’ vacated position to North Middle School Principal Leah Harrell, who accepted the STREAM coordinator offer.
Harrell’s vacated principal position was offered to South Middle Assistant Principal Holly Eslick, who also agreed to fill the role.
Eslick’s South position will be filed by Allison Dietz, who has been an assistant principal sharing duties at Clark Memorial and Decherd Elementary.
Bean said that, in addition to Daniels leaving the STREAM program, Todd Reinholtz, who had also been a STREAM coordinator, previously accepted a job with the Manchester City School System.
Bean said that, at present, Dietz elementary schools’ position and Reinholtz’ STREAM position are not being filled.
He added that, if deemed necessary, the Decherd and Clark assistant principal positions may be filled at a later date.
Bean said a goal to meet a budget directive from the county’s Finance Committee is to make cutbacks wherever possible without affecting school-system operations or the education process.
He said a goal is to eliminate five positions during the next two years through attrition. He added that the salary and benefit savings would be about $300,000 annually.
