The clinic of Southern Tennessee Internal and Family Medicine Specialists is moving to 2006 Dinah Shore Blvd. in Decherd. The new location is undergoing a total renovation and is scheduled to be completed by early spring of this year. The Decherd location will be home to Dr. Christopher M. Murray and Dr. Olan B. Kemp. Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Winchester recently announced the expansion and relocation of Southern Tennessee Internal and Family Medicine Specialists to better serve the growing healthcare needs of the community.

To accommodate its growth and to make its office even more convenient, the clinic will be moving to 2006 Dinah Shore Blvd. in Decherd.

The new location is undergoing a total renovation and is scheduled to be completed by early spring. The Decherd location will be home to Dr. Christopher M. Murray and Dr. Olan B. Kemp.

“We are very excited to bring primary care to a location that creates an easy access point for our patients,” said Cliff Wilson, CEO of Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Winchester/Sewanee. “The new Southern Tennessee Internal and Family Medicine Specialists location in Decherd on Dinah Shore Boulevard is being completely renovated through a partnership with local developer Herschel Wells and general contractor Blue Oak Projects.

“The new practice will be staffed by two board-certified physicians who are committed to each patient and their healthcare needs, Dr. Chris Murray and Dr. Olan Kemp. These physicians are great assets to our community and both are very excited about the new location and the opportunity to further our mission of making communities healthier.”

Murray received his undergraduate degree from Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan.

He received his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee and completed his residency in internal medicine at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan (MSU). 

Murray offers a wide range of adult healthcare services including chronic disease management, diabetes management, preventive care of the elderly, hypertension management, weight loss management and counseling, COPD and asthma management, rheumatologic evaluation, thyroid disorders, osteopathic manipulative therapy, annual wellness exams and more.

Kemp will be joining Murray at the new location in 2020. Kemp offers a wide range of adult healthcare needs including primary care management, diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, COPD/Asthma, Thyroid DX, acute illness, Medicare wellness exams, chronic disease management (non-pain management), migraines and more.

Kemp joins Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Winchester/Sewanee from the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro.

Before working at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center, he was a family physician in Tullahoma, Decherd, and Fort Polk, Louisiana.

Kemp was also a hospitalist in Cookeville and a research assistant at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville.

Additionally, Kemp attained the rank of major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps.

Kemp graduated from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences in Memphis is 1989. He completed his residency at DeWitt Army Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Kemp is a member of the Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians, American Board of Family Medicine, and American Academy of Family Physicians.
