A Winchester man has been released on a $15,000 bond following his Jan. 30 arrest on charges for possessing and distributing suspected methamphetamine.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reports said Carl W. Willis, who will be 61 on Sunday, was arrested at about 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 30 after deputies executed a search warrant at his 238 Fairview Road residence in Winchester.
Personnel found and seized about 75 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine, 20 grams of suspected marijuana and slightly more than $900 in cash.
After being arrested, Willis was transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Winchester for treatment and was later taken to the Franklin County Jail where he was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell, possession of schedule VI (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Willis’ initial court date is set for 8 a.m. on March 16 in Franklin County General Sessions Court.
In addition to deputies, the Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit, Sheriff’s Office investigators, and Sheriff’s Office K-9 Officer Greg Lewis participated in the operation.
