DAVID SELLS

 SELLS, David Brooks, age 81 of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Brooks was born on Aug. 26, 1937, in Winchester to the late Roscoe Ray and Johnnie Mae (McGriff) Sells. He was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his church family. Brooks enjoyed working with his mules and Belgium horses, but most of all he loved being with his family, especially his precious grandbabies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Lorraine (Farris) Sells; daughter, Teresa Mae Sells; grandson, David Lincoln Sells; and siblings, Bill Sells, James Edward Sells, Emma Jean Farris and Doris Sells. Brooks is survived by his loving children, Ricky (Diane) Sells of Fayetteville, Debbie Sells of Fayetteville, David Sells of Fayetteville, Mitzi (Tim Holland) Burnum of Fayetteville and Glenda (Ben) Porterfield of Lewisburg; sisters, Bonnie Brandon of Estill Springs and Shirley Larkin of Huntland; sister-in-law, Jessie Sells of Winchester; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, from 5-8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. OLLIE TUCKER

 TUCKER, Ollie Mae, age 86 of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, at Signature Healthcare in Cleveland, Tennessee. A native of Franklin County, she was born on Aug. 8, 1933, in Winchester to the late David Otis and Ruby Lee Spencer Burt. Ollie Mae was a member of the Harmony Cumberland Presbyterian Church. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed baking cakes and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Murrell Tucker. Ollie Mae is survived by her loving daughters, Billie Jean (Andy) Strike of Cleveland and Bonnie (Randy) Collins of Belvidere; grandchildren, Josh (Brittany) Dixon, Jason (Jaqui) Dixon, Drew Strike and Dalton Strike; great-grandchildren, Layton Walls and Mila Dixon; and brother, Harold (Ella Dean) Burt of Winchester. JOSEPH HERD 

HERD, Joseph Edwin, age 81 of Belvidere, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019. He was born on June 6, 1938, in Wetumpka, Alabama to the late Leonard Phillip and Lelia (Emory) Herd. Joe moved to Birmingham at a young age and was a founding member of The Avondale Boys. He earned his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree in 1961 from Auburn University. Joe was a devoted member of the Winchester First United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and served the Lord. He was a dedicated husband of 57 years, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He poured his time and love into his community through his service as a pharmacist and the owner of Blue Front Drug Store from which he never had intentions of retiring. On his rare days off, you could find him tending to his flowers and working in his yard. He will forever be remembered for his jokes, impressions, stories and love for others. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his siblings, William Haywood Herd and Miriam Herd. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzie Herd of Belvidere; children, Amy Herd (Randy) Foster of Winchester, Joseph Phillip (Teresa) Herd of Belvidere, Jenny Herd (Sean) Crabtree of Winchester and Suzanna Herd (Brett) Scrivener of Franklin; grandchildren, Faith Foster (John) Wine of Winchester, Joseph Robert (Mandy) Foster of Carthage, Olivia Brooke Herd of Belvidere, Hollis Tucker Herd of Belvidere, Marilee Crabtree of Winchester, Wilson Joseph Scrivener of Franklin and Logan Marie Scrivener of Franklin; and great-grandchildren, John Wesley Wine, Jackson Wine, Jace Wine, Jonah Wine, Lawson Foster, Ethan Foster and Alex Foster. ANNA POWELL

 POWELL, Anna Ruth Moss, age 97 of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, Winchester. She was born on Nov. 16, 1921, in Chattanooga to the late William J. and Mary Frances (Milton) Moss. Before her retirement, she was employed as a teacher by the Hamilton County School System. Mrs. Powell was a member of the Winchester First Baptist Church and of Alpha Delta Kappa teacher’s sorority. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Powell and daughter, Margaret Powell Hall. Mrs. Powell is survived by her daughter, Mary Powell Cowan of Winchester; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.  HOLMAN, Cleta Jane Beard, age 83 of Ortisco, Indiana, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019. Survivors: husband, Rudy W.  MEARSE, Margarett Ann, age 76 of Decherd, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, Winchester. She was born in Tullahoma on Nov. 4, 1942, to the late Fred E. and Elizabeth Ann (Gunn) Ash Sr. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed fishing, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Margarett was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Mearse, son, John Scott Jr. and grandson, Rayford Andrew Scott. She is survived by her loving daughters, Mary Scott of Decherd, Lisa Sisk of Decherd and Minnie Farris of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jeremy Sisk, Eric Scott, Billy S.  OAKES, Kimberly Dawn Elliott, age 48 of Estill Springs, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on Feb. 9, 1971. Kim was employed as a waitress as she loved being around people and doing for others. Her friends and family will remember her friendly, generous, loving nature and big heart that would do without so others could have what they needed. She loved her cats and watching cooking shows, but most of all, Kim loved spending time with her grandchildren. TREENA WILLIS

 WILLIS, Treena Marie Griffin, age 52, of Estill Springs, Tennessee departed this life on Monday, Aug. 19, 2019, at Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, losing her battle with cancer. Mrs. Willis was born in Harvey, Illinois to the late Homer Lee Griffin and Helen Marie Prince Griffin. Mrs. Willis last attended New Creation Church in Tullahoma. She was a homemaker and enjoyed planting flowers and working in her flower garden. She was also an avid bingo player. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted sister, wife and aunt. Mrs. Willis is survived by her husband, Allen Willis of Estill Springs; sisters, Tamala Williams of Athens, Alabama, Tina Gatlin of Houston, Texas and Tracy Kirk of Boursbonnias, Illinois; brothers, Timmy Griffey of Estill Springs and Homer Griffin Jr. of Louisiana; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. BOBBY BAUGUS

 BAUGUS, Bobby Joe, age 66, of Winchester, Tennessee departed this life suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, Winchester. Mr. Baugus was born in Casagrande, Arizona on May 24, 1953, to the late James Baugus and Lela Annalee Darden Baugus. Mr. Baugus graduated from Casagrande High School. He was a heavy weight wrestler at Phoenix Junior College in 1972, and his minor was radio broadcasting as Dr. Buzzard. After attending Junior College he was a butcher by trade for a grocery chain for many years. He relocated to Cookeville, Tennessee and was employed for approximately 10 years as manager of Taco Bell. He enjoyed playing harmonica and loved to make people laugh. In addition to his parents, Mr. Baugus was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Jean Vaughn Baugus; brothers, Alvin and Jackie Baugus; and sister, Kitty June Dockins. He is survived by his sisters, Virginia Louise Lee of Minnesota, Iva Dawson of Phoenix, Arizona, Anna Lampshire of Livingston and Henrietta Reyes of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers, Johnny Baugus of Oregon and Frank Baugus of Missouri; step-son, Jason Vaughn and wife, Tiffany of Lawrenceburg; three step-grandchildren, Courtney, Denice and Jason Vaughan II; and great-grandchildren, Madison Hunt and Paizley Davidson.
