ELDRIDGE, Oma Lee Anita Trussell, age 94 of Estill Springs, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Elk River Health and Rehabilitation (formerly The Willows) in Winchester. Born on Dec. 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Clayton Trussell and Clara Cope Trussell. She was a long-time member of the Estill Springs United Methodist Church and was a retired LPN. In addition to her parents, Oma Lee was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Isabell and Mary Ruth Trussell; an older brother, Dewey Trussell; a younger sister, Pareline Trussell McCullough; her husband of 73 years, David Eldridge Sr.; and her oldest son, Kenneth Eldridge. She is survived by a younger brother, Glen Trussell; sons, David (Becky) Eldridge and Jimmy (Gail) Eldridge; seven grandchildren, Michael (Dale) Eldridge, Stacey (Chris) Relford, Jeremy Eldridge, Chris (Tiffany) Eldridge, Brian (Joesette) Eldridge; Kenny Eldridge and Natasha (Alan) Miller; 13 great-grandchildren, Abigail and Daniel Eldridge, Gage, Landon, and Grace Relford, Ethan and Evan Eldridge, Colton and Savannah Eldridge, Mathew and Madyson Eldridge, Abby Eldridge, and Brent (Maggie) Owens; one great-great-grandchild, Harper Owens; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. BROOKS, Samantha Nicole Vayro, age 23, on Jan. 3, 2019, received her angel wings and flew home to paradise where she will live forever. She was born on May 21, 1995, in Sierra Vista, Arizona. “Nicole” grew up in Winchester, attending Franklin County schools. She was full of energy. Growing up, she was involved in gymnastics, cheerleading, karate, dance, baton and pageants with cheerleading and gymnastics being her favorite. Nicole had a kind, loving and forgiving heart. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help out as best as she could. Her beautiful smile, infectious laughter and generosity touched all who knew her. VANZANT, Mary Elizabeth, age 74 of Decherd, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Winchester. She was born in Morgan County, Alabama on Feb. 19, 1945, to the late Kyle and Mary Jackson Beasley. The matriarch of her family, Mary Elizabeth was a dedicated homemaker. A true Christian lady, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as her church family. She will be remembered with much love and gratitude. Her family will miss her chicken/turkey and dressing, as well as her caramel cake. In addition to her parents, Mary Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Vanzant; step-son, Frederick Gray; and siblings, Melvia James, Earlie Rutledge, James Beasley, William Beasley and Lorene Elliott. BUSBICE, Roger Lann, a native of Jackson Parish, Louisiana, a longtime resident of St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, and a recent resident of Hytop, Alabama, died on May 11, 2019, in Nashville, Tennessee. Roger Lann Busbice was a former teacher, principal, supervisor and director of personnel for the St. Mary Parish School Board. He also served for many years as an adjunct instructor of history for Nicholls State University and for the Louisiana State University Lagniappe Program. From 1992 through 1995, Busbice was Chief Archivist and Historian for Louisiana’s Old State Capitol. More recently, he was the Director of Legal Services for Associated Professional Educators of Louisiana, an independent teachers’ organization he helped establish. Busbice was a life member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a member of the Military Order of the Stars and Bars, a member of the American Jewish Historical Society, a member of the Scottish Clan MacDonald and a member of the Cumberland Mountain Senior Citizens. For many years, he served on the St. Mary Parish Library Board of Control and on the Camp Moore Historical Association Board of Directors. From 1996 until 2000, he was an elected member of the Louisiana Republican State Central Committee. In his final years, he was a member of Christ the King Anglican Church in Decherd, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Debi; his daughter, Bonnye Good and son-in-law David Good of Seymour, Indiana; his grandsons, Xander Good and George Good; and his sister, Renee Rabb and her spouse Barbara Cigainero of Keaau, Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, E. L. and Juanita Busbice. Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Morgan City on May 25, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. with visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. before the service and also at Christ the King Anglican Church on June 15, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. with visitation from 5-7 p.m. on June 14, 2019, and from 10-10:30 a.m. on June 15, 2019. GREER, Jo-Ann Oglesby, age 79 of Winchester, departed this life on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Elk River Health and Rehab of Winchester, following an extended illness. Mrs. Jo-Ann was born in Shelbyville on Aug. 13, 1939, to the late Frank Oglesby and Mamie Baker Oglesby. She was a member of the Broadview Baptist Church. Mrs. Jo-Ann was employed as a teacher’s aide at Clark Memorial School in Winchester for several years. She then left the school system and was hired as service manager at Sears. She received her insurance license with the State of Tennessee and was employed at the former Watson-Gamble Funeral Home in Winchester for several years. Her last place of employment was as a licensed insurance sgent with Life of Georgia where she retired. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her and her wonderful smile and laughter. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas A. Greer of Winchester; sons, Charles Richard Greer, William “Bill” Greer of Winchester, Thomas Roy Greer and wife, Amy of Decherd; grandchildren, Ashley Short and husband, Tim of Belvidere, Brittany Vaughan and husband, Casey of Winchester, Amanda Greer and Christin Greer, both of Decherd; six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Harriett Satterfield and husband, Paul of Prescott, Arizona. JONES, Bobby Dean, age 77 of Winchester, passed away on Friday May 17, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Jones was born on April 30, 1942, in Princeton, Alabama to the late Samuel Clarence and Rena B. Kindred Jones. Mr. Jones worked as a painter for 30 years for ATA which was contracted by AEDC. Before beginning his career in painting he worked At Tullahoma Funeral Home with Floyd Motlow. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, under the direction of Rev. Auburn Martin. During his free time Mr. Jones greatly enjoyed fishing and watching westerns. He will always be remembered as being an honorable and hardworking man who was loyal and committed to his entire family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his significant other, Henrietta Gail Jones and his siblings, Peggy Garner, Ancel Jones, Harlene Jones, W.C. Jones and Helen Jones. CALDWELL, Stacy Annette, age 55 of Estill Springs, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Mrs. Caldwell was born on July 31, 1963, in Hacienda Heights, California to the late Roy Allen and Janice Pauline Wright Henson. She was employed for several years as the office manager at Smith and Sons Wholesale. Mrs. Caldwell was a member of the Christ Community Church in Tullahoma where she served as a prayer leader with her husband. During her free time she loved to crochet, cook meals for her church and help other people. She will always be remembered for being loving and giving, but a little stubborn as well. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Allen Henson Jr. and her daughter, Amber Nicole Tustin.
