 JOHNSON, Wilma S., age 91. The Lord called her home on Monday, April 29, 2019, at Elk River Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Nov. 16, 1927, in Bessemer, Alabama to the late John and Georgia (Pruitt) Morrow. Wilma accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Decherd. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking and grilling. She was a caring, humble and modest lady that used a soft tone of voice when talking to others. Neighbors and friends marveled at her beautiful flowers. She was the best cook and grill master in the town. Friends would love to stop by and eat her famous lemon pound cake and roasted pecans. She met the love of her life, the late Charles F. Johnson Sr., and become one in 1957. Wilma was preceded in death by her children, Bobby Ray Simmons, Paulette Burks and Clyde Simmons. In addition to her husband and children preceding her in death, are her siblings, John Morrow Jr., Roberta Brown, Irene Simmons and Estelle Qualls. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Leon) Hartsfield of Winchester; son, Charles F. (Annette) Johnson Jr. of Decherd; grandchildren, Lo Anza (Shannon) Burks, Tamula (Tony) Sales, Greg (Teresa) Taylor, Jarrid (Beth) Rowe, Danny Simmons, Cody Simmons, Christian Hartsfield, Jarious Johnson and Jalisa Johnson; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard (Bobbie Jean) Morrow of Cowan, James (Deloris) Morrow of Colorado Springs, Colorado and William Earl Morrow of Tullahoma; sisters, Willie Mae Morrow and Susie Ruth Morrow, both of Nashville, Leona (Phil) Moss of Indianapolis, Indiana, Georgia Ann (Ed) King of Shelbyville and Gertrude Stovall of Decherd; sisters-in-law, Hazel Childress and Annie Mae Trigg, both of Winchester; a host of nieces and nephews; and two very special cousins, Pauline Smith and Virginia Trigg. Visitation with family and friends was held on Friday, May 3, 2019, from noon to 1 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, May 3, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in the Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester with Lo Anza Burks, Howard Morrow Jr., Christian Hartsfield, Jarious Johnson, Danny Simmons and Cody Simmons serving as pallbearers and Jarrid Rowe serving as honorary pallbearer.  ROAKE, Elizabeth Betsy Algire, age 84 of Hobe Sound, Florida, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019, at 12:04 p.m. at Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital. Betsy was born on July 17, 1934, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She was the first born of Thad and Mildred Algire. Betsy graduated from Boston Children’s Hospital with her RN. She met the love of her life, Charles F. Roake and was married in May, 1956. She dedicated her life to her family and her craft of taking care of people. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thad and Mildred Algire, her best friend and husband, Charles F. Roake and two grandsons, Kyle Douglas and Evan Wesley Bosworth. Betsy is survived by her three children, Leslie Nixon (Robert) of Tennessee, Debra Bosworth (Timothy) of Florida and Thad Roake (Tammy) of California; her younger sister, Mildred McSwain of North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Jeff, Justin, Jason and Joel Nixon, Ryan and Keenan Bosworth and Aiden, Gracyn and Hailey Roake; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Colton and Mackenzie Nixon and Lukas Bosworth; brother-in-law Jerry Hershberger; niece, Susan Starke (Tom); and nephew, Robert Hershberger. She also leaves to mourn two special angels in her life, David Cerzan and Alexandra Jordan. They gave selflessly to ensure Betsy had the highest quality of life possible. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, from noon to 2 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester.
