 GARNER, Betty Gail Adams, age 70 of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2019, at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro. She was born in Tullahoma on June 22, 1949, to the late Lloyd Wayne and Marie (Ray) Adams. Before her retirement she was employed in the housekeeping department at the Life Care Center. Betty enjoyed watching television and spending time with her favorite four-legged companion, Rusty Garner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Lee Garner and sisters, Shirley Harmon and Patsy Eason. Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Stephanie (John) Blaylock of Hillsboro and Sherry Pierce of Decherd; grandchildren, Aaliyah Blaylock (Ray Haney) of Hillsboro and Jeremiah “Jeremy” Pierce of Winchester; brother, Wayne “Buddy” Adams of Georgia; sister, Carolyn Elaine (Steve) Cody of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Elisha Gail Pierce, Amber Leanne Pierce and Chris Pierce; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  MANN, John F. (Fred), of Concho Arizona passed from this life on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, at Summit Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 7, 1936, in the Hurdlow community of Moore County, Tennessee to Virgil and Martha Mann. He is survived by his children, Jane (Mark) Rinna, Teressa Cooper, Johnnie (Connie) Mann and Jeffery (Machelle) Mann; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Wanda E. Prather, Myrtle (M.J.) Hill, Joyce Fischer, Herbert (Peggy) Mann, Leonard (Hilda) Mann, Violet (Malcolm) Gardner, Ray (Carolyn) Mann, Faye Thornes, Ellen Moore, Larry F.  TOBITT, James Edward “Bill,” age 82 of Estill Springs, passed from this life at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Center of Winchester on Monday, Sept. 30, 2019. Mr. Tobitt loved to drive and was a truck driver for over 40 years. He also enjoyed traveling, sports and politics. He was a Vanderbilt fan and loved to coach basketball and coaching with his daughter Tammie. James was also a member of the New Center Grove Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Minnie Tobitt; two sons, Randy Tobitt and Mike Arnold; daughter, Tina Arnold; brother, Kenneth Tobitt; and brother-in-law, Ray Philpot. He is survived by his wife, Marie Tobitt; four sons, Michael (Jo) Tobitt, Danny Tobitt, Jeff Tobitt and Ronnie (Debbie) Arnold; daughter, Tammie Tobitt; daughter-in-law, Alison Arnold; brother, Charles (Lynn) Tobitt; sister, Jean Philpot; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cindy Lou was born in Decherd on Feb. 23, 1955, to the late Chester and Betty Jo Eddy Barnes. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.  MORRIS, Ola Mae Foshee, age 83 of Winchester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 27, 1936, in Sherwood to the late Andrew and Annie Evans Foshee. Mrs. Morris was a member of the Owl Hollow Church of Christ. She enjoyed decorating her home, shopping for her grandchildren and loved to work in her yard and flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant daughter, Cynthia Jennings; daughter, Connie Jennings Brown; infant great-granddaughter, McKenzee DeCamp; sisters, Ruth Ray, Minnie Dent and Ruby Chitwood; and brother, Andrew Foshee. A member of the Cowan First Baptist Church, Charlotte loved her dogs and horses and also enjoyed collecting antiques.  KEITH, Larry Fred, age 76 of Estill Springs, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on May 14, 1943, in Barbaraton, Ohio to the late Luther and Edith Hall Keith. He served in the United States Air Force before later working for the B.F. Goodrich and the Eaton Corporation. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed woodworking, fishing and fixing computers and was an animal lover at heart. He will be remembered for his kind-hearted nature and for how he never met a stranger. Larry was a member of the Riva Lake Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Sanders and brothers, Donald Keith and Bobby Keith. EARL HALL

 HALL, Earl Avant, age 87 of Estill Springs, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 4, 1932, in Davidson County to the late Chalmus Avant and Elsie Maybelle Rich Hall. Earl graduated from Antioch High School in 1950, serving as class president and from Tennessee Tech in 1954, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1952, Earl joined the United States Army in which he was stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia. He continued to serve his country in the Army Reserve until 1964. Earl was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 35 years as a soil conservationist and he always said he had been on every farm in Franklin County during his work tenure. He was a very active member of the Winchester First Baptist Church where he served as deacon and on many committees, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Earl also was a member of the local Gideon’s organization and the Sports World Ministries for over 30 years and he had served as president of the Winchester Little League. A Christian gentleman who will be remembered for his gentle and kind nature, he most of all loved spending time with his family and going on trips with them, but also he enjoyed working around the farm and spending time outside. He was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Cone Hall. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Scales Hall of Estill Springs; children, David (Nan) Hall of St. Petersburg, Florida, Mickey (Melissa) Hall of Estill Springs, Cathy Hall (Rick) Bean of Murfreesboro and Charles Avant Hall of O’Fallon, Illinois; grandchildren, Michelle (Larry) Bello, Michael (Katie) Hall, Mitchell Hall, Mary (Ben) Baker, Rebecca (Nick) Sterrett, Emma (Joey) Martz, Sarah Hall, Eric (Kirstin) Bean, Laura (Tony) Bean-Allen, Brooke Hall, Logan Hall and Avant Hall; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Jack and Emmy Bello, Charlotte, Wyatt and Ella Hall and Elise and Alec Sterrett. MCCLURE, Fred Donald, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019 at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, at the age of 89. Mr. McClure was born in Winchester to the late Thomas J. and Fannie Stubblefield McClure. He was a veteran of the United States Army and went on to work as a welding engineer and supervisor with AEDC. Mr. McClure was also a long-time member of the Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church in Tullahoma. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Jean McClure; one son, Larry Donald McClure; and seven brothers and sisters, Grady, Claude and J.D. McClure, Dot Riddle, Gladys Parker, Thelma Farris and Dimple Sanders. Mr. McClure is survived by one son, Brad Stephen McClure and his wife Jennifer; seven grandchildren, Lori McClure Smith and her husband, Thomas, Lance McClure and his wife, Morgan, Taylor McClure Roper and her husband, Craig, Morgan McClure, Leah McClure, Logan Langlois and Kelly Langlois; two great-grandchildren, Avery and Carter; and daughter-in-law, Lois McClure.  SULLENGER, Tad Micheal, age 32 of Winchester, passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on Jan. 14, 1987. Tad served and retired from the United States Army Infantry. A true outdoorsman, Tad enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping and four-wheeling but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his beloved family. Those who loved him will remember him for his loving, yet stubborn and hard-headed nature. He was of the Southern Baptist Faith. Tad was preceded in death by his grandfathers, W.C. Sullenger and Jim Hargrove.  WRIGHT, Robin Rhea, age 54 of Belvidere, passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. She was born in Shelbyville on June 29, 1965, to the late Weldon Ray Bush and Judy Adcock Bush Baldauff. A dedicated homemaker, Robin lived to make others laugh and feel good. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and working on crafts and listening to music and dancing but most of all Robin loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Robin was an avid Tennessee Volunteer and Nascar (Dale Earnhardt Jr.) fan. She will be remembered by her family for her loving, generous and caring nature.  WALKER, Robert Vernon Sr., age 88 of Estill Springs, departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at Southern Manor Assisted Living Center, Winchester, following a brief illness. He was born in McMinnville on June 4, 1931, to the late George Bryan Walker and Mamie Starkey Walker. Mr. Walker was a member of the Winchester First United Methodist Church and last attended the Estill Springs United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving approximately 22 years for his country. He was then employed for many years with the U.S. Postal Service in McMinnville. Mr. Walker enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a Christian man and a kind and loving gentleman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Mayme Truslow Walker, and brother, William “Bill” Walker. JOE HASTY

 HASTY, Joe Dennis, age 61, of Lewisburg, formerly of Winchester, departed this life on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Mr. Hasty was born in Winchester on Sept. 17, 1958. He was a 1976 graduate of Franklin County High School and was a drummer in the band. Mr. Hasty was a well-known hairstylist. Some of his hairstyles were published in the 1996 New Body Short Hair Styles magazine. He had shops in Chattanooga, Cool Springs and for the past 20 years in Lewisburg. He enjoyed dancing, cooking and loved his dogs. Mr. Hasty was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willard and Annie Hasty and maternal grandparents, Thomas and Lorene Perry. He is survived by his life partner, Jerry Wayne Bailey of Lewisburg; sister, Jill Hasty Gipson of Winchester; parents, Billy and Edith Hasty of Estill Springs; brother, Billy Hasty of Winchester; sister, Paula Crossland of Winchester; brother, John Brents of Estill Springs; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.  PAMPLIN, Jeanne Lindsay, age 87 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019. She was born in Fayetteville on Jan. 6, 1932, to the late Joseph Clyde and Lillie Hayes Lindsay. Jeanne graduated from Fayetteville Central High in 1950 and married William Alexander Pamplin on June 1, 1952. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Two daughters were born to this union, Amy Jo Pamplin (Aug. 7, 1954) and Catherine Lindsay Pamplin (Jan. 10, 1959). Jeanne was employed as a legal secretary for the State of Tennessee for over 30 years for Chancellors L.F. and Jeffery Stewart. Jeanne was a devoted member of the Decherd Presbyterian Church for many years, where she served faithfully in many special capacities. She was a gentle soul who loved her family and was always caring and thoughtful of others. Jeanne maintained the gift of generosity, gentleness and the ability to compose the most sincere notes to friends and family. Jeanne was a charter member of the General James Winchester Chapter of the DAR. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, William A. Pamplin; and daughter, Amy Pamplin Woodard. Jeanne is survived by her loving daughter, Catherine Pamplin Seigenthaler of Winchester; granddaughter, Lindsay Kate Seigenthaler of Raleigh, North Carolina; and son-in-law, James L. Woodard of Franklin. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Michael Bradley and Rev. Jerry Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester. Serving as pallbearers will be: Steve Seigenthaler, Mark Stewart, Brant McGill, Walter Stratton, Donnie Ingle and Teddy Henley. JOHN FANNING

 FANNING, John Landis, age 70, died on Oct. 4, 2019. Survivors: wife, Vicki Fanning; children, John L. Fanning II (Niso), Jennifer Morris (Benjamin), Justin Fanning; eight grandchildren; brother, Joe Fanning (Gerry). Services were held Oct. 9, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment was in Lynchburg City Cemetery.

LARRY BROWN

 BROWN, Larry Curtis, age 72 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, at his residence. He was born in Chattanooga on Oct. 22, 1946, to the late Lucius E. and Grace Smith Brown. Larry served in the Tennessee Army National Guard and was employed as an ironworker (Local 704) at AEDC, where he retired after 35 years of service. He enjoyed working around the house and taking care of the yard, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Larry was a devoted member of the Estill Springs Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, L.E. Brown Jr. and Terry Brown. Larry is survived by his wife of over 51 years, the love of his life, Faye Sherrill Brown of Decherd; sons, Tim (Misty) Brown of Decherd and Chad Brown of Decherd; precious granddaughter, Britney Brown; and siblings, Linda Weaver of Estill Springs, Harold (Debbie) Brown of Hillsboro, Bill Brown of Tullahoma and Wayne (Vickie) Brown of Winchester. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019, from 5-8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Chris Seals and Bro. John Potts officiating.
