HOMERDING, Mary Elizabeth Dotson, age 69, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020, in Georgetown, Texas, surrounded by family. Mary was born on April 12th, 1950, in Nashville, Tennessee to George Edward "Buddy" and Sammi June (Finney) Dotson. She spent her childhood days in Sewanee, Tennessee and moved to Georgetown, Texas in 1983. She met and married Roy Philip Homerding in April of 1989. Mary was a lover of all animals but had a special place in her heart for elephants. She was known for her incredible sense of humor, gorgeous dimple, and infectious laugh. Although she had no children, she was a mama to her fur babies, nieces, and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandparents, Lester and Ocie (Brooks) Finney; paternal grandparents, Edward and Sallie Dotson; and her beloved brother, George Dotson. She is survived by her husband, Roy; her brothers, Allen and David Dotson; sister, Janet Galbreath; aunts, Susan Clark, Elizabeth Yates, and Madeline Prince; uncles, Charles Finney and Mark Finney; nieces, Southern Dotson and Mimi Vaughan Conklin; nephews, Russell Dotson, Dylan Dotson, and Dylan Galbreath; and many dear great-nephews, nieces, and cousins. The family would like to give special thanks to the ICU staff at St. David's Georgetown Hospital for the kindness and compassion shown in her care. A private memorial service is planned for early summer at Eastern Star Cemetery in Sewanee, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, it is her request that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Americares in her honor.
